Although research indicates that breast radiologists experience “high rates of personal career satisfaction,” many are experiencing high rates of burnout, too. “Burnout is an extremely prevalent issue among healthcare professionals,” write the authors of an April 2023 article in Academic Radiology. “Radiologists are no exception, with up to 46% of radiologists in a 2023 study demonstrating symptoms of burnout.” Since work overload is one factor that contributes to burnout, workflow solutions that enhance radiologists’ efficiency and productivity are key — and the PowerScribe and MagView integration is a perfect example.
PowerScribe and MagView integration: A workflow that works
At MagView, we specialize in making workflows for breast imaging centers more efficient, productive, and MQSA compliant. Many of the breast centers we work with are existing PowerScribe users that look to MagView for mammography tracking, risk assessment, and MQSA compliance optimization.
But the PowerScribe and MagView integration provides additional benefits that help improve radiologists’ workflow, resulting in increased efficiency and productivity — and hopefully reduced burnout. Since this is a popular integration that we’ve performed many times, we have extensive knowledge and deep experience when it comes to ensuring a smooth integration process.
Once implemented, it creates a streamlined and efficient reporting workflow for radiologists
PowerScribe and MagView integration: Workflow options
Magview integrates with both PowerScribe 360 and PowerScribe ONE, and there are three options for doing so. For each, Magview is being used for mammography patient tracking, analytics, and MQSA compliance.
1. PowerScribe is used for all reporting.
With this option, radiologists conduct all reporting in PowerScribe alone without the use of MagView in the reporting workflow.
2. PowerScribe is populated with patient information from MagView.
In this scenario, radiologists report in PowerScribe, but the patient’s history, risk score, and other key information is sent to the PowerScribe report template from MagView.
3. PowerScribe and MagView are used together through a hybrid approach.
With this option, MagView is used for some structured reporting, but PowerScribe dictation is conducted for more complex reports. History, risk score, and other info, like mentioned in the workflow above can be integrated into the dictated reports.
With all three workflow options, MagView is tracking patients, sending letters, and collecting data for MQSA compliance and breast center analytics.
