MagView’s mammography tracking and reporting system continues to grow in popularity with breast centers across the country. Since that’s the case, we’ve encountered some common questions over the past year from facilities seeking the right solution to meet their mammography tracking and reporting needs. To help others on the hunt for the same, we’ve compiled a list of the top ten frequently asked questions (FAQs) of 2024.

Top 10 FAQs for 2024

If your breast center is interested in exploring MagView’s offering, perhaps the following answers to our FAQs will help.

1. Can MagView automatically extract mammography results, and what information do users need to enter manually?

MagView extracts all the necessary information to track the patient and sends the appropriate letter regarding BIRADS results, recommendations, tissue density, and more. If anything is missing from the dictated report, it will be flagged for a staff member to enter manually.

2. Can our radiologists still use their current voice recognition (VR) system?

The short answer is yes. Different workflow options depend on the VR system in use, but the radiologist can keep the same reporting workflow if they’d like. MagView will extract the data needed for patient tracking, patient letters, MQSA compliance, and more.

3. How will our radiologists’ workflow be impacted?

If the breast center is satisfied with the radiologists’ current workflow, it doesn’t need to be impacted at all. However, if there is a desire to address inefficiencies that may exist, MagView would be happy to help — since improving workflow efficiency is one of the big benefits of integrating MagView’s software.

4. Do you integrate with X, Y, Z?

Most likely, yes. MagView integrates with all the major radiology information systems (RIS) and electronic health record (EHR) platforms, Epic being the most common. We also offer integrations with dictation systems, picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), artificial intelligence (AI) tools, and automated breast density software. In fact, our integration expertise is a key factor that sets us apart from our competition. That’s because our interfaces are custom-built — resulting in some of the most tightly integrated workflows in breast centers around the country.

5. Can you interface with our systems?

Even if you’re not sure about your EHR’s interfacing ability, MagView’s robust interfacing capacity means the most likely answer is yes.

6. Can we import data from our existing system?

If you trust your current data, then yes, we can import data from your existing system.

7. Do you offer Tyrer-Cuzick Breast Cancer Risk Assessment? What other models are available?

Yes, Tyrer-Cuzick can be fully integrated with your MagView tracking and reporting system. It is also available as a “stand-alone” offering through Luminary Risk. Plus, women can use MagView’s Tyrer-Cuzick online calculator to assess their own risk. Other risk assessment models we support include NCI, BRCAPro, Claus, and BRST.

8. Can you email the patient their results?

Yes, patients can receive their results via email either through MagView’s patient results portal or a portal app that can be embedded in your EHR, such as Epic MyChart. If a letter sent via email isn’t opened, it’s flagged — which triggers the MagView software to issue a physical letter.

9. Does our staff have to select the patient letter?

Nope. Within all workflows, patient letter selection occurs automatically based on the final assessment in the report. The one exception is if MagView’s software flags an error on a dictated report, in which case staff would need to manually select the patient letter.

10. What if we need help to change a patient letter?

Once you’re up and running, you’ll have MagView “superusers” on your team who may feel comfortable making a patient letter change on their own. If that’s not the case, our fabulous support team is always available and happy to help.
